I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1983 at The Middlesex Hospital School of Physiotherapy. I worked for 6 years in the NHS both at St. Helier Hospital and at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London before moving into private practice. During this time I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working in the outpatient unit at St. Thomas’ hospital where I ran the hand unit and then the manipulation unit. I am registered with the Health Professional Council and I am also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Physiofirst, the professional body of private practitioners. I am also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. I regularly attend lectures and courses to update my knowledge and expertise.

I am a ‘hands on’ physiotherapist who believes that local massage, mobilisation and manipulation together with exercises will give the most effective and speedy recovery. Acupuncture can also be used along with these treatments – as well as ultrasound, interferential therapy and laser therapy where appropriate.

I treat a wide variety of conditions that may cause pain, stiffness or weakness affecting joints, muscles and the soft tissues. These include;

  • Back pain and sciatica including sacro iliac joint problems, thoracic pain and stiffness and rib dysfunctions

  • Neck pain including whiplash injuries, headaches and migraines

  • Osteoarthritis, affecting necks, back, knees, hips, shoulders and ankles

  • Shoulder pain from rotator cuff tears, impingement, muscle pulls or post dislocations.

  • knee pain due to meniscus injury, ligt. damage or muscle imbalance

  • Wrist pain due to RSI or ligt. strain

  • Tennis and golfers elbows

  • Sprained ankles

  • Breathing problems including hyperventilation syndrome

  • Balance and stability problems

  • Rehab following fractures and operations and especially post hip, knee and shoulder replacements

  • Post stroke rehabilitation

  • Respiratory conditions including chest infections, pneumonia and COPD
